During our opening week one of my team Michelle gave a medi pedi to this journalist from You and Your Wedding….she was road testing a few on the market and basically gave us a glowing report which goes into some detail. For anyone in doubt that they need a medi-pedi in their lives………..read this!
Ok so I have collaborated with Elle Collections for over a year now since I first did the luxury logo collection for them, which even found its way onto the Perez Hilton blog. This time they asked me if it would be possible to paint the dalmation nail print onto an actual dalmation dog’s nails and of course I couldn’t say no! Actually Pandora and her owners were very compliant so it didnt really feel like animal cruelty. I mean dogs go to the beauty parlour all the time now right? I wonder if she still has them on…….

I’ve been pretty much holed up in the studio this past couple of weeks as the summer holidays are nearly upon us, everyone is cramming their shoots in for Autumn campaign season…I have been the biggest fan of Terry Richardson’s photography for so long and finally got to work with him. I have even given his famous thumb hand a manicure which I think he liked cos he asked for another one the following week. His whole crew are so cool and dope to work with. Come back to London soon Terry!
I tried a new style of keith haring influenced nail art on myself to match my new neon pink Diane De Maria bag.
Cleo Sol is an upcoming singer/songwriter from Ladbroke Grove in London and she came to me this week to get her nails pimped for her 1st video shoot.
This has definitely been the year of the wedding and the girlband! As anyone who follows me would have noticed I have been working with alot more music artists recently which I love as they are into making nails a feature of their style and videos. Its a chance to think of something a bit more unique or creative.
I referenced the Illamasqua nails I did 2 years ago for this but used the Jamaica colours and hot pink which is Cleo’s favourite.
The yellow, green and pink is by Orly….i am getting more and more into this brand lately.

As I said when my work was over, I had a quick look around NYC did a bit of sightseeing Sophy Robson style…ie Checking out street culture and nail culture without getting into trouble! Had to leave my mark with all the other stickers. There are nail shops EVERYWHERE in New York but they are not very stylish to look at.

There was this amazing hip hop tune in the 90′s by Uptown called Dope On Plastic and they used the same font.

I have been talking a little bit about my Nail Art Collaboration with Sephora which is about to be released…..
Back in March, I went over to New York to make some photos for the Sephora windows. The shoot was at Splashlight Studios in SOHO.
After the shoot and meetings finished I had a quick pilgramage to one of my favourite designers Alexander Wangs flagship store and had a quick wander from there. That was only the second time I’ve been to New York (I’m more of a California Girl) but I was totally loving the energy and would love to go back there.
I did 6 different nail looks on 3 of the top hand models in NYC. (Including Ashly Covington and Christina Ambers)
I am going to do a separate post about the complete nail look collection I did for them with nail recipes but these are the 6 main shots Sephora by OPI chose. It was a long day at the studio as we didnt finish shooting til nearly midnight, but Sephora made such an effort to make me feel welcome – they provided an on set Dj who as it was MY shoot was obliged to play my ipod without anyone complaining ha ha.
