I have decided to transfer my blog onto my Tumblr So So Fly at http://sosoflynails.tumblr.com/

The reason for this is after many years of online tissues and issues, Ive decided Tumblr answers my blogging problems. Its instant so can be done on the go with my phone whereas there is always some kind of formatting and upload problem with wordpress. The old blog was fun while it lasted and I achieved alot with it but Tumblring is the way forward I think…nearly everyone is on there now.

The Sophy Robson site is looking dated now anyway and will be getting a make over later in the year!

Nailphilia Exhibition at The Degree Art Gallery Vyners St E2 London

If you have any interest in Nail Art in London you must have heard about the first ever Gallery exhibition of Nail Art at the Degree Art Gallery in Bethnal Green which opened this week.

Back in June Ryan Lanji the curator asked me if I would be interested in contributing, I saw this as an opportunity to take nails out of the salon and into the next level. I attempted to create an actual work of art……..well 3 actually! The exhibition runs throughout September 2011.

As part of my job I am continuously being asked what the new “trends” are for nails.

This Autumn Chanel have released their first matte topcoat which gives any polish you put it on a suede textured effect.

I used it recently for a luxury goods advert on hand model Nina Taylor and the clients loved the look of it.

Mavala also do a really good one which does the same thing.

It reminded me that we did matte oval nails at the last Giles show and at Loewe so maybe this is a bit of a trend after all!

I’ve been working on some new nail designs for the winter season – I know I know but thats how it works in the beauty industry. I was passing the Missoni shop and saw this new season jumper in the window so I thought it would look cool on a nail…….The rest of the collection will be revealed soon!

I was just messing around with this new pink colour from Hollywood nails in Peckham, (trust me you will not find it anywhere else – its like the colour of Germolene) and I ended up painting my logo initials on my nails.

Its been a while since I blogged any fine jewellery shots from some of the shoots I work on. So without further ado, here is some of the gorgeous stuff I’ve spotted lately. This is where I get some of my ideas from…like I’ve seen a lot of padlocks on accessories this season - i could see that as a nail charm!
